Some places aren’t built to host travelers — they’re built to welcome family. That’s the spirit behind Rapa Nui, La Residence: a boutique house set right in the center of Hanga Roa, where the island’s everyday rhythm meets the calm every traveler seeks upon arriving in Rapa Nui.

A home with a living memory
More than a hotel, this project was conceived as a house with living memory. Its founders — islanders who grew up inhabiting these landscapes — wanted to recover a way of life that’s slowly fading: one where heritage isn’t displayed behind glass, but shared at the table, in daily rituals, in every sunrise over the Pacific.
The rooms blend contemporary lines with details drawn from the island’s culture and natural surroundings — bright, warm, functional spaces designed for couples and travelers seeking privacy and deep rest. Outside, a pool, a jacuzzi, a terrace and a covered quincho unfold among fruit trees, inviting time to pass unhurried.

For Protrip, the opening of La Residence adds a new layer to our Rapa Nui offering: the chance to give our travelers an intimate, authentic experience, steps from village life, without giving up the comfort and distinctive character we look for in every property we bring into our programs.
Easter Island has always been a destination of superlatives — the moai, the endless ocean, the silence of its volcanic landscapes. Now, it’s also the place where staying feels like coming home.
