Under one of the clearest skies on the planet, Protrip presents a night designed to close out the year in a different way: a celebration that combines fine dining and professional astronomical observation right in the heart of the Atacama Desert.

Ancestral flavors of the desert, in three courses
The night opens with a welcome cocktail and continues with a three-course dinner with wine pairing, where each dish is an interpretation of Atacama’s ancestral flavors — a culinary proposal designed to make the celebration go far beyond just dinner. The bar stays open throughout the evening, and round-trip transfer from the hotel is included, in a shared service.
After dinner, the night opens up to the sky: high-end telescopes and guided observation led by specialists, in one of the best astronomical viewing spots in the world. The experience includes professional astrophotography — each guest takes home two photos shot by the technical team — and bilingual guides in Spanish and English throughout the night. It closes with a cold pyrotechnics show to welcome the new year, without the noise or risk of traditional fireworks.
For us, this night adds to our San Pedro de Atacama offering as a different way to close out the year: the chance to give our travelers a celebration that combines top-level dining with one of the cleanest skies on the planet, in a single program.
Atacama has long been one of the world’s most recognized astronomical destinations for the quality of its skies. Welcoming the new year under those same stars, with a dinner to match, is a different — and memorable — way to say goodbye to the year in the desert.
